What are Porcelain Veneers?
Porcelain is a highly durable material that mimics natural tooth enamel. The veneers are extremely thin shells of porcelain that are bonded directly onto your teeth for a flawless result. The natural properties of porcelain reflect light similar to the way your natural teeth do. It also makes an excellent restorative material because of its glossy surface texture and its translucency. If you have discolored teeth, irregular sized or misshaped teeth, or have minor spacing issues, you may be a candidate for porcelain veneers.
A porcelain veneer is about the same thickness as a fingernail, which is about 0.5 millimeter thick. In order for Dr. Coleman to get a truly seamless fit, a tiny portion of your tooth will need to be shaved down a bit. This important step guarantees that your new veneers are virtually undetectable so that no one will be able to tell where your natural tooth ends and the veneer begins. Take a look at how thin the veneer actually is, as demonstrated in the photograph.
Our Beautiful Smile Guarantee
Dr. Coleman considers your smile makeover a failure unless you absolutely love it. In fact, Dr. Coleman offers what we call a beautiful smile guarantee because he is so confident that you will fall in love with it. This means you will have multiple opportunities to see exactly what the veneers will look like before they are permanently bonded in place. He will work with you to help you select the exact style and personality you want to portray, from the initial consultation all the way through to the final application. If you aren’t completely satisfied at any point prior to the final try-on, he will gladly send them back to the laboratory until you love them. Dr. Coleman believes wholeheartedly in the quality of his work. So if anything happens during the first year, he will take care of it. In-House Ceramist for Your Porcelain Veneers
One of the things that sets us apart is that we have our own in-house laboratory and ceramist. Your veneers can be created on-site to the exact specifications that Dr. Coleman has ordered. This eliminates any miscommunication between the dentist and the laboratory. It also means it is quite possible to turn your new smile around in as little as 24-48 hours. Patients at other practices sometimes have to wait four to six weeks for the lab to return the veneers.
If you are interested in no-preparation veneers, we can also accommodate this in our laboratory. To learn more about our custom restorations, please visit our laboratory page.
